Meet the doctor
John D. Mittelsteadt, DDS
Dr. Mittelsteadt founded Mosaic Dental - Eagan Valley. In addition to dentistry, he and his wife, Lisa, have three adult sons. They recently moved to Minneapolis and restored their "new" but very old home to health. He and his wife enjoy renovating their home, bicycling, and hiking. They also have been active in District 196 and were honored as friends of Eastview High School. Although their sons are no longer in the district, they have continued working with students in need.
Experience
Dr. Mittelsteadt completed Advanced Dentistry Training at the University of Vermont Medical College. He is also an associate professor of diagnosis and radiology at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry.
Dr. Mittelsteadt serves on the Board of Directors for Hope Dental and Union Gospel Mission and is a Co-Founder of Andean Community Partners. He also leads a collaboration between the Prince of Peace Dental mission and Mosaic Dental.
Dr. Mittelsteadt received recognition from Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine and was inducted into their "Dentist Hall of Fame." He also received the "Alumni of the Year for Outstanding Service" award from St. Olaf College.

"I have focused my practice entirely on Dental Implants, Surgery, and Sedation since completing his full-time Implant Fellowship program at Southern Illinois University in 2015. I am honored to be one of seven dentists in Minnesota and 600 dentists in the country to have obtained Board Certification in Implant Dentistry from the American Board of Oral Implantology. While I understand the thought of extractions and dental implants is overwhelming for some patients, I take pride in making the experience in the office and post-operatively at home as easy as possible. I am honored by the opportunity to care for patients undergoing implant care."

Meet the doctor
Erik Z. Solberg, DDS
Dr. Solberg is originally from Eden Prairie and resides in Prior Lake with his wife, Brooke, and their two children. They have dogs of their own and enjoy fostering dogs for rescue organizations. They love to travel, with one highlight being a journey to Guatemala for a dental service trip. He can typically be found with family and friends, enjoying the outdoors by hiking, gardening, skiing, or playing various sports.
Experience
Dr. Solberg received an AEGD (residency) certificate from Idaho State University where he was able to train extensively under Surgeons to become skilled in procedures including placement of Dental Implants, Wisdom Tooth Removal, Oral and IV conscious sedation, atraumatic tooth extraction, gum and bone surgery and bone grafting.
Dr. Solberg went on to complete a 1-year full-time Implant Fellowship at Southern Illinois University. He also received his status of Master of the College of Sedation in Dentistry (MaCSD) from the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and the status of Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantology (FICOI).

Joanna R. Tran, DDS
Dr. Tran was born and raised in Bloomington, Minnesota. She resides in St. Louis Park with her husband and two dogs, Speedy, a Jack Russell, and Honeybee, a Whippet. In her free time, Dr. Tran loves to travel. She has backpacked through Japan, Thailand, China, Inner Mongolia, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. Dr. Tran and her husband recently took up beekeeping as a hobby and collected almost 15 gallons of honey from their hives in the summer of 2021.

Shelley Sidhu, DDS
Outside of the office, Dr. Sidhu enjoys spending time with friends and family. She also loves being outdoors, hiking, traveling, painting, drawing, and baking.

Dr. Sidhu has an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Certification from NYU Langone Health. She also did her dental residency at Apple Tree Dental in Mounds View, Minnesota.

Jacob W. Des Jardins, DDS
Dr. Des Jardins was born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin, but found his home in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, after school. When he isn’t working, you can find Dr. Des Jardins spending time with his family and friends, hiking and walking with his significant other, snowboarding in Colorado, exercising, and running. He enjoys playing the guitar, piano, and video games with friends for leisure activities.
